Spreading the Word:
** Fridays during Lent--Stations of the Cross followed by "Soup Supper" @ 7 pm. "Come and thank the Lord for all he has done for you."
**St. Patrick's Annual Dinner--Saturday, March 13. Reservations are required. Adults--$20, children $10. Good food, good company, good entertainment. Send checks to: Anthony Capuano 63 Gabel Road Callicoon, NY 12723 to reserve your place.
** The teens of the CYO thank all who generously donated to their "Souper Bowl" Sunday. They collected over 200 cans of soup and $300 to donate to our local charities.
** The Altar and Rosary Society would like to thank everyone for participating in their "Bakeless Bake Sale". The winner of the raffle was Karin Meyer.
** Thanks to the Knights of Columbus and their ladies for all their hard work for the Family Fun Day on 2/28. It was a nice way to forget about the snow and think spring.
**The Archdiocesan Stewardship Appeal has begun. You can make a pledge by mail or by filling out an envelope in the Church pews during "Commitment Weekend" Masses, March 13-14 & 20-21.
** Holy Cross Church presents... Discover Switzerland, Austria, and Bavaria with Oberammergau's Passion Play-- June 12-21, 2010. Per person rates (double occupancy):

Holy Cross Church: On August 12,1979 a ground breaking ceremony was held for the new Holy Cross Church. Terence Cardinal Cooke dedicated the Church on July 20 1980. Thanks to Fr. Anthony F. Moore, OFM the parish had its first permanent home since 1860.

St. Patrick's Church: In 1897 the Catholics in Long Eddy borrowed $700 to build a place of worship. Though the church was not completed until 1904, the first Mass was celebrated on Christmas Day 1903. On November 8, 1906, the Church was dedicated by Right Reverend Thomas Cusack, Auxiliary Bishop of New York.

Fr. Ignatius E. Smith, OFM: Celebrated 50 years of priesthood in 2006, has been the cornerstone of both parishes since coming to Sullivan County in 1995.
